Scope of the Legislation:
Market surveillance (MS) legislation regarding radio equipment in Türkiye includes Regulation on Radio Equipment (2014/53/EU) and Regulation on Market Surveillance of Radio Equipment. By these regulations, the conditions of placing products and devices on the market, essential requirements of the radio equipment in order to protect human health and safety, environmental, animal and plant health, the way of market surveillance and the authorities of the BTK regarding conformity assessment and notified bodies have been determined and elaborated.
Basic Security Requirements:
Within the scope of Article 5 of the Regulation on Radio Equipment (2014/53/EU), “Essential Requirements”, by providing the safety requirements specified in the Regulation on Electrical Equipment Designed for Certain Voltage Limits (2014/35/EU), it ensures that it was manufactured in a way to protect the health, safety and property of human and pets and meet the electromagnetic compatibility requirements at a sufficient level as determined in the Regulation on Electromagnetic Compatibility (2014/30/EU). In addition, radio equipment should be manufactured in such a way as to use the radio spectrum efficiently and to support the effective use of this spectrum in order to prevent harmful electromagnetic interferences. Conformity Mark Required by the Legislation:
It is mandatory for radio equipment to bear the "CE" mark as specified in the "Regulation on CE Marking" for placing on the market. The markings that these devices should possess are given in the table below.

Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:
Conformity assessment procedures for radio equipment can be accomplished as set out in the Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU);
- Internal Production Control (Module A)
- EU-Type Examination - Conformity Assessment (Module B and Module C)
- Full Quality Assured Compliance (Module H)
Date of Entry Into Force: Regulation on Radio Equipment (2014/53/EU) entered into force on 5th November, 2020 in Türkiye.
