Communiqué on Conformity Inspection of Some Consumer Products (Turkish Official Gazette No. 29701 Date: 3/5/2016)

Scope of the Legislation:

Regulation specifies the standards that will be considered about the conformity of the products stated in annex such as baby walking frames, carry cots and stands, cribs and cradles, wheeled child conveyances, soother holder, children's clothing and specify essential requirements for food imitation products, decorative products growing in liquid, balloon with volatile gas, novelty lighters.

Basic Security Requirements:

Products that are specified in the annex of this Communique shall meet the minimum safety conditions which the product shall present regarding the level of protection for the health of persons, safety of persons and their properties, life and health of animals and plants, environment and the consumer. Standards specified in the annex are taken into account when considering conformity to essential requirements of these products.

Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:

A product is deemed safe if it meets the requirements of the certain referenced standard. Manufacturers shall submit test reports from accredited laboratories or authorized laboratories by the Ministry and/or all information and documentation regarding the conformity of the products to the Ministry upon its request.

Date of Entry Into Force: Provisions for Children's high chairs, Bicycles for young children, Cribs and cradles, seating and tables for camping, internal blinds, buoyant aids for swimming instruction, city and trekking-young adult- mountain and racing bicycles entered into force 1/1/2017 where other provisions on the date its publication.
