The Regulation on Detergents (Turkish Official Gazette No. 30314 Date: 27/1/2018)

Scope of the Legislation:

The Regulation sets out requirements about placing detergents and surfactants used in detergents on the market, requirements and restrictions relate to biodegradability, information to be provided to the consumer via the labelling of ingredientsincluding fragrance allergens, the information that manufacturers must hold at the disposal of the Member States’ competent authorities and medical personnel, phosphate and phosphonates compounds restrictions regarding dishwasher detergents and consumer laundry detergents.

Basic Security Requirements:

Detergents and surfactants used in detergents on the market shall comply in accordance with the Regulation provisions about biodegradability of surfactants in detergents, , phosphate, phosphonates compounds and nirtic acid restrictions, information provided by manufactrurer and labelling.

Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation :

Manufacturers shall hold information and technical documents mentioned in article 12 and also responsible for tests performed properly as indicated in the Regulation. They shall also have available documentation to demonstrate compliance with this Regulation, and to show that they are allowed to benefit from the property rights concerning the test results, other than for those test results already in the public domain.
