This Regulation has been published based on Directive 96/98/EC. Harmonization legislation process regarding EU Directive 2014/90/EU, which replaced 96/98/EC, is ongoing. Currently, market surveillance activities are not carried out within the scope of the Ship Equipment Regulation. Following the publication of the Regulation based on Directive 2014/90/EU, market surveillance activities will begin.
