Recreational Craft
Directive on Recreational Craft and Presonel Watercraft
Scope of the Legislation:
Watercraft for sports and leisure purposes, between 2,5 m to 24 m in length (Recreational craft and personal watercraft) and the engines to be fitted to these vehicles.
Basic Security Requirements:
It shall provide stability and buoyancy conditions for watercraft. If it is related to the engine, it shall meet the exhaust and noise emission conditions in terms of environmental safety.
Conformity Mark Required by the Legislation:
CE conformity mark is used.
Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:
As within the scope of other new approach Directives, products are manufactured within the scope of modules A, A1, B, C, D, E, F, G and H.
In addition, there is a "Post-Production Evaluation" (PCA) module in Directive on the Recreational Craft and Personal Watercraft.
This module is carried out by Notified Bodies for products manufactured under another type but intended to be included in the scope of this technical regulation.
There is no need for an accredited test laboratory for the tests to be carried out during the production phase of watercrafts.Depending on the conformity assessment module, the tests can only be carried out by the manufacturer itself (Module A) or under the supervision of a notified body, on the coast or in inland waters.
On the other hand, there is a need for an accredited test laboratory to perform exhaust emission testing on engines.
Date of Entry Into Force:
It is entered into force by publishing in the Official Gazette dated 5/5/2017 and numbered 30057.
Directive on Marine Equipment
Scope of the Legislation:
It covers the equipment (in the list attached to the Regulation) to be used on ships subject to the International Convention specified in the Directive.
Basic Security Requirements:
In the annex of the Directive; To meet the requirements in the International Convention, Code and standards.
Conformity Mark Required by the Legislation:
Wheelmark is used.
Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:
The equipment within the scope of the directive is manufactured under the supervision of the Notified Body by subjecting it to the tests specified in the relevant standards.
Date of Entry Into Force:
It is entred into force at 01.06.2006.
