Textile

Scope of the Legislation: 

Rules on labelling and marking of textile products specified in Article 2 “Scope” in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 September 2011 on textile fibre names and related labelling and marking of the fibre composition of textile products. Also products not fall within the scope of the Regulation are listed in Annex 5.

Basic Security Requirements:

Products shall be labelled or marked in a durable, easily legible, visible and accessible way to indicate their fibre composition in compliance with the Regulation.

Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:

Manufacturers must ensure that textile products are properly labelled or marked with an indication of their fibre composition. Distributors shall ensure that textile products bear the appropriate labelling or marking prescribed by this Regulation. When making a textile product available on the market, the distributor shall ensure that textile products bear the appropriate labelling or marking prescribed by this Regulation. Manufacturer and distributor shall ensure that any information supplied when textile products are made available on the market cannot be confused with the textile fibre names and the descriptions of fibre compositions, as laid down by this Regulation.

Regulation on the Labelling of Materials Used in the Main Components of Footwear for Sale to the Consumer (Turkish Official Gazette No. 29337 Date: 25/4/2015)

Scope of the Legislation:

The Regulation has provisions about rules on labelling requirements, concerning the materials used in the main components of footwear for sale to the consumer in accordance with Directive 94/11/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 March 1994. Some examples of footwear which are covered by the Regulation indicated in Annex 3. Second-hand or old shoes, footwear covered by the Personal Protective Equipment Regulation and toy footwear are excluded.

Basic Security Requirements:

Footwear must be labelled with information relating to material content of the upper, the lining and insole sock and the outer-sole of the footwear article. The permanent label must appear on at least one article of footwear in each pair. An information poster at least (297mm x 210mm) A4 size shall be displayed at the point of sale regarding adequately informed of the meaning of these pictograms.

Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:

Manufacturers are responsible for the label must be legible, firmly secured and accessible and not misleading. When it is impossible to determine the producer, retailer shall be responsible for ensuring the appropriate labelling. Point of sale information banners shall be provided by retailers.
