Scope of the Legislation:
It covers transport of animal products and live animals, excluding semen, ova, embryos, nomadic animals within the country, documents to be used in transport, loading, unloading and transportation of animals, purchase and sale of animals, passing of animals through affected places with any transmissible animal diseases, animal transport vehicles and the issues related to those who do it, the disinfection of transport vehicles, the obligations of the appointeds, the transport of undocumented and unidentified animals and other transactions related to the transport.
Basic Security Requirements:
It is obligatory to have the animal passports for intra-provincial transport of bovine animals, and the transport document for the intra-provincial transport of sheep and goats. In inter-provincial transports, animals are examined and necessary controls are made by official veterinarians, and a veterinary health report is issued for healthy animals. D-type holograms are attached to veterinary health reports.
Conformity Mark Required by the Legislation:
The carcasses of domestic animals (cattle, buffalo, bison, sheep, goat, camel, pig, equidae) slaughtered in the slaughterhouse and labeled within the scope of Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Food Labeling and Consumer Informing (OG: 26/1/2017, 29960) and with health marks in accordance with the Regulation Determining the Special Rules Regarding the Official Controls of Animal Foods (OG: 17/12/2011, 28145) transfers are made as follows.
Conformity Assessment Procedure Required by the Legislation:
a) In slaughterhouses, whole carcasses of domestic hoofed animals can be divided into half or quarter pieces, and half carcasses into three pieces at most, and the carcasses are shipped in this way.
b) For intra-provincial carcass transfers to be made from slaughterhouses, a slaughter report prepared by the official veterinarian in charge of the slaughterhouse and the format of which is determined by the Ministry shall be kept.
c) Slaughter report is not prepared for carcass transports from slaughterhouses to other provinces. In these transfers, it is obligatory to have the veterinary health report prepared by the official veterinarian in charge of the slaughterhouse. D-type holograms are attached to veterinary health reports.
